In the HO3 kitchen, we’re having a slumber party and making delicious and easy pizza roles. This is an all in one and well-rounded meal where you get all the foods in the food pyramid and it’s delicious!
- ¼ cup spinach
- ½ medium green bell pepper, chopped
- ¼ cup mushrooms, sliced
- ½ medium onion, chopped
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1 carrot, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup spaghetti sauce
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 ¼ teaspoon yeast, undissolved
- 1 ½ teaspoon sugar
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ⅔ cup water
- 3 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 ½ cup mozzarella
- Wooden spoon
- Large bowl
- Rolling pin
- Pastry brush
Step 1: Once the vegetables have been cooked blend veggies in a blender and once the veggies are blended you can add the spaghetti sauce together to create the pizza sauce.
If you don’t have a blender, don’t worry! You smash your veggies with a potato masher, and then mix it with your spaghetti sauce.
Step 2: Combine together all of the dry ingredients (all-purpose flour, wheat flour, yeast, sugar and salt). Once all is mixed you will let that rise in a warm place. This will be the dough for our pizza.
Now that our dough is done, and has had some time to rise,
Step 3: When the dough has had time to rise it’s time to roll out your dough into a rectangular shape.
If you don’t have a rolling pin, be creative squad members! You can even use a water bottle! It’s important that if you are using a plastic or glass bottle that you’re sprinkling with some flour because the dough will stick onto the bottle and make it difficult to roll it out smoothly.
Step 4: Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, and add more flour if necessary.
Step 5: Spread the pizza sauce onto the dough. You want to make sure that you’re covering the sauce evenly on the dough, but still leaving a small border without any sauce.
Step 6: Roll it up horizontally, sprinkle with mozzarella and cut into thick slices.
Step 7: Pop the pizza in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until crispy.
